At The Backcare Clinic, we use a variety of electrotherapies at the clinic to reduce inflammation and encourage healing of back pain.
Long wave ultrasound
We use the Phys-Assist which was developed by SRA Developments. It was the first therapeutic ultrasound machine in the 44-48 kHz range.
It quickly became a well-established device, used as a safe and highly effective alternative to the more traditional megahertz machines.
Utilizing low frequency, long wavelength energy, the Phys-Assist is able to simultaneously treat both the superficial and deep tissues with minimal energy output.
Rather than all the ultrasonic energy being absorbed within the first 10mm of the skin’s surface, the longwave energy is able to penetrate much more deeply.
The Phys-Assist is used to complement the treatment of both acute and chronic soft tissue injuries.
Typical injuries that can be treated include:
Torticollis, Cervical Spondylosis, Low Back Pain, Sacro-illac Strain, Tennis Elbow, Golfer's Elbow, Frozen Shoulder, Teno Synovitis, Groin Strain, Ankle Sprain, Muscle Haematoma, Traumatic Contusions, Muscle Spasm, Tendonitis.
